Rechannel the giving energy

Our campus has been overwhelmed with generosity in response to our recent loss. From Michael Vick giving thousands to the United Way to Hershey donating 3 tons of maroon and orange chocolate kisses, the heart of the world to mend what is broken is commendable. We want you let you know about an additional need this summer: Courageous members of our church have started a ministry to street kids in the Dominican Republic, a place of chronic pain and suffering. This summer, a sacrificial faith-filled team is there seeking to establish a second home for street kids to offset the load on the home they began a few years ago. The cost of the building is estimated at $165,000 and will allow for street kids age 10-20 to get out of slavery, poverty, sexual abuse, and a life of violence. Checks can be made out to Project Esperanza and mailed to: Project Esperanza 1915 Sussex Rd. Blacksburg, VA 24060. Or get involved in other ways at esperanzameanshope.org.
