How are we different from those first Christians who took up their cross and carried it as the world glanced aside? Are we not also the outcasts of our generation fighting for an eternal cause? A good friend of Jesus in a letter to his friends in Ephesus encouraged them to “serve whole-heartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men.” (Eph: 6-7) Our savior is calling us to abandon the self-centered ideals of this world and magnify his glory by making ourselves less (Jn.3:30). A nexus is a means of connection, or a connected series or group. Together we are a nexus, all linked through a love affair with our savior. Let’s enter a nexus with God as we learn to fearlessly serve our king.
