Lenten Journey: 2023

40 days of reflection and meditation on the life of Jesus as we prepare for and look toward Easter and the resurrection.

Holy Week

Our hope is to bathe Holy Week in prayer! For 24-hours each day during holy week, someone in our community will be praying. You are welcome to pray together with others, on your own, in your home, or in the designated prayer room at 1521 South Main St. Let’s close out Lent with a powerful commitment to prayer!

During the Lenten season this year, we’ll have various ways to connect and go deeper into this practice both individually and collectively.

Lent is the 40 days (not including Sundays) from Ash Wednesday to the Saturday before Easter. Lent is often described as a time of preparation and an opportunity to grow closer with God. Historically, the church has focused on three main areas during the season of Lent: charity, fasting and prayer. This season we’re honing in on “40 Days with Jesus.”

This theme will allow us to join the suffering of Jesus as we take time for personal reflection that prepares our hearts and minds for Good Friday and Easter.

We’ve created a comprehensive but accessible plan that provides weekly readings, meditations, reflections, and prayer, along with a few special events and community gatherings.
