Scripture Memorization

We all know scripture memorization is important, but I think for many of us, it’s hard to make time for it as a discipline in our individual lives. That’s why we’ve started incorporating scripture memorization into some of our larger gatherings. We’ve memorized two scripture passages together: one at the Winter Retreat and one at the last Deeper. Want to learn them? Try these exercises below:

Read this passage.

Matthew 6:31-33 (New Living Translation)

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Think of it in 3 chunks:

1. So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’

2. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.

3. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
